All set in the beautiful location of the Wye Valley with so much to do around. The house was an absolut delight, and so was the garden, both decorated with great creativity and inspiration. Breakfast was top-class, and rooms very tasteful.
Eight of us, stayed in four rooms, the first weekend of March 2014. Having read all the previous reviews I agree with everything that has been said.
I want to repeat that the owners have lovely well behaved pets, and their home is immaculately clean.
The breakfast was delicious. The rooms were very warm. The rooms are all large (in fact, they are larger than what the photos show).
The furniture in the house is amazing, mostly built by the owner, and some antiques.
There was plenty of room for all the cars to park. We did not hear any external noise at all.
There is so much to do nearby ... this is a great place to visit.
Some things should never change and the hospitality of this wonderful relaxing place made two nights feel like a week, a comfy room and fabulous breakfast. Surrounded by great scenery, lovely walks, great pubs, and places to eat, with the friendliest people on the planet. If we had the money we would buy it too and not change a thing even the hosts Peter and Christie would have to stay, along with the dogs and cat of course. We promise not to leave it so long before our next visit. If you like to chill and chat in an amazing house this is the place for you.
Stayed at this lovely B & B for one night last week. Peter and Christine our hosts were absolutely fabulous. We had a choice of rooms and plumped for the White Room, best nights sleep ive had in ages. Very peaceful with beautiful surrounding gardens. Breakfast was lovely, full English and choice of cereals, also homemade jams, yum! We had gone to wedding the night before and drove there from Tan House, we left our car there and Peter even took us into town to pick the car up the following day. This is a really tip top place, dog friendly (not that we took a dog but you can if you like) and has the bonus of not smelling doggie at all. Gay friendly, straight friendly all friendly, they really do cater for everyone.
Would definitely stay again if in the area.
We stayed at The Tan House in August 2013. It was a 5 day extension of our visit to the Wye Valley area because it was so beautiful. By pure luck (through the network of our very kind previous hosts) we we're introduced to The Tan House and how lucky we were: the house and its gardens and meadows are beautiful, and are situated perfectly in this great area. The hosts, Peter and Christie, gave us a warm welcome and made us want to stay longer. We definitely will keep this treasure in mind!
The house and gardens are so beautiful that you'll never want to leave. A lovely bedroom with a delightful view and a delicious locally produced breakfast AND wonderfully welcoming hosts. What more could anyone want?
We loved it at the Tanhouse that much we were back there two weeks later - and will be back again soon I'm sure. The house is set in beautiful gardens and quiet fields and it really is a hidden gem. It's so peaceful wherever you go in the grounds, you cannot help but relax. Christie and Pete are perfect hosts and make you feel like part of the family. The rooms are beautifully done and are so comfy that you really do sleep well. When you rise in the morning you are greeted with the most impressive breakfast, this place really is unique. My Dad isn't well and we had to take oxygen and things for him but this didn't pose a problem at all. I can't wait to go back as they really have become good friends as well as hosts. Go and give them a visit. I promise you, you won't be disappointed either.
Me and my partner (20 and 24) stopped here with family a few months ago and we had a fantastic time, It felt like we was stopping with family rather than in a bed and breakfast! we had a beautifully clean room and a beautiful bathroom to our selves that had a shower and a bath too! Me and my partner had our 3 month old daughter with us and it was no trouble at all, everything we could have wanted was done and prepared for us and nothing was to much for the owners, Cristine and Pete. They ensured my critically ill Granddad enjoyed himself and even went into town to get a heated blanket for him as he was a bit under the weather, might I add the house was not cold at all it was just my Granddads condition that caused him to be cold. I would highly recommend the tan house farm to any one, with or without children!
Thank you very much for your fantastic hospitality and within time I am sure we will see you again!
